Quilt Show Chairwomen - THANK YOUs

DSQ Chairperson:

Thanks so much to the Desert Sage Quilters for the success of the UNITED WE QUILT show!  It was a joy to see the pleasure that your beautiful creations gave to all the people who came.

Many, many people stopped me on the showroom floor to compliment me on the show, but I've got to give credit where it is due.  First, thanks to all of you for entering your beautiful quilts.  Second, thanks to a dedicated committee who followed through on all their responsibilities and made sure the details were all in order.  Third, thanks to the huge host of volunteers who set up, worked and took down the show.  I am amazed at your numbers and energy.  Fourth, thanks to the DSQ guild members who have been tolerant of our idiosyncrasies and supportive of our work.

The admissions desk recorded that about 720 adults and 50 youth attended the show.  In addition, both days between 38 and 44 volunteers viewed the show before or after their shift.  One weekend, 200 beautiful quilted items, 800 viewers--let's do it again!

Susan Debaene-Gill, Quilt Show Chairperson

Registration Chairperson:

WE made it! The show is behind us, and all of you were a key part in making it a success. Thank you so much for all your help, either behind the scenes or at the show itself. I could not have done it all without your support. We did our part without any troubles and learned a few things for the next show. I had a good time and hopefully all of you did too. Again, thanks to all who helped.

Sincerely,

Liz Mandelkow

DSQ Quilt Show Registration Chairperson

Quilt Show Block Challenge Chairperson:

To everyone that did a Challenge Block, Thank you to everyone who voted and did a challenge block for the Quilt Show.  Every block was great and it was so hard to vote.
Thanks Again

.

Kathy Adamson, Block Challenges Chairperson

Dixie McClain, Vendor Chairperson

Door Prizes Chairperson:

I wish to take this opportunity to thank all of the persons and businesses that donated material and products to us to use as door prizes. We realize that there is a slight tightening of belts because of the war and other economic conditions.

First thanks to Cathy Reitz for the donation of a Resource Guide to find addresses for companies that supply quilting supplies.

Second, Veda Galpin for co-chairing the committee. Without her help it would have been a much bigger job.

Third, Dorothy Rolland, my sister for supplying over 50 fat quarters for use as door prizes when I knew we would be short of having a prize for each visitor.

Fourth, to each of the persons who worked behind the table at the door prize booth, Peggy Jardin, Marilyn Gardener, Joyce Gronenthal, Carolyn Lancaster, Leona Hankins. And most of all thanks to my husband for his patience and support these 4 months of gathering prizes and for helping me set up the booth and take it down and for also helping at the booth. He is now completing his fourth quilt since November and is on his way to being a top notch competitor.
