Quilts
of Valor are quilts made for wounded soldiers all over the world.
People get together the first Wednesday of each month at Stitchin' Time in
Twin Falls and sew on the quilts. All people need to bring are fabrics and notions needed for
the project. People can make their own quilt or fabric has been
donated that can be made up into a quilt. The minimum size for the quilts
is 50 x 60 and no larger than a twin size. They need to be made out of good
quality cotton--no denim, polyester or rag quilts. When a few quilts are
ready, the coordinator is contacted and she tells us what hospital or VA
rehab center to send them to. So far, over 40 quilts have been mailed.
This is all on a donation basis. Anyone can come sew, donate fabric or
money to help defray expenses. Making quilts for these wounded
soldiers is the least we can do for what they have done for us and our
country! If you have any questions,
please call Naomi, at 423-5758 or Stitchin' Time at 735-4094.
